INFORMATION SERVICES COMMITTEE1. The Information Services Committee reports through the Planning and Budget Committee to the Academic Council/Vice-Chancellor as appropriate. 2. The role of the committee is to— (a) establish and maintain a strategy for the integrated development of information services in support of teaching, research and administration in line with institutional objectives; (b) advise on the implementation of the strategy including budget priorities, hardware and software, staffing, support and training; and (c) maintain a policy framework for information services through the development of regulations, codes of conduct and appropriate standards. 3.(1) The committee comprises: (a) the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), as Chair; (b) the Executive Director, Finance and Resources or nominee; (c) the Executive Director (Academic Services) and Registrar or nominee; (d) the University Librarian; (e) the President of the Guild of Undergraduates or nominee; (f) the Information Technology Policy Executive Officer; (g) one nominee from the Teaching and Learning Committee from among the faculty nominees to that committee; (h) one nominee from the Research Committee from among those elected by the Academic Board to that committee; (i) one nominee from the Information Technology Technical Advisory Group; and (j) up to two members co-opted, if required, to provide balance, specific expertise or desirable linkages between committees. (2) Members nominated under (1)(g), (h) and (i) have a two-year term of office, but may be reappointed. (3) Co-opted members are appointed for one-year, but may be reappointed. |
